The HERS Index is the officially recognized energy performance rating system in the United States. The index is similar in concept to the miles per gallon label you see when purchasing a car, except here it refers to the homes energy efficiency. The lower the score the more efficient your home is and the less energy used. As a point of reference a HERS score for an existing "typical" home is 150 and the score for a new home built to today's energy code is 100. A typical Cristo Homes HERS score is 65. This means our homes can use up to 57% less energy than an existing home and 35% less than other new homes built today. Click here to learn more about the HERS Index.

*Savings based upon independent HERS rating of a typical Cristo two-story basement home. Scores for other homes will vary based on size, facing direction, foundation type and other factors.
